When you create a Jol account, we collect your name, email address, and phone number if you provide one. If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and email associated with that account.

With your permission, we use your device's location to show you venues and events near you. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings — the app still works without it, you just won't see distance-based results.

We also collect basic usage information — which events and venues you save, RSVP to, or view — to make recommendations more relevant and to show accurate attendance counts.

We use your information to run the core features of the app: showing you relevant venues and events, letting you reserve tickets or a table, sending you notifications you've opted into (like reminders or updates on a booking), and improving the app over time.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Your data is stored with Supabase, our backend and database provider, and processed only as needed to operate the app. Venues you interact with (for example, by making a reservation) receive the details necessary to fulfil that booking.

You can review and update your profile information at any time from the app. You can request deletion of your account and associated data from the Profile screen, or by emailing us — see South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) for more on your rights as a data subject. We'll act on deletion requests within a reasonable time.

Jol helps you discover nightlife venues and events in Cape Town and beyond. By using the app, you agree to use it lawfully and respectfully — no impersonating others, scraping the app, or attempting to disrupt how it works for other users.

You're responsible for meeting the legal age requirements of any venue or event you attend. Jol doesn't verify age on behalf of venues.

Venue and event details (hours, pricing, availability) are provided by venues and organizers themselves. We do our best to keep listings accurate, but we're not responsible for last-minute changes made by a venue. Ticket reservations made through the app are an agreement between you and the venue — Jol facilitates the booking but isn't a party to it.

If a venue or organizer cancels an event, ticket holders are entitled to a full refund of the amount paid. Contact us at tuyemma17@gmail.com to request your refund and we'll process it back to your original payment method.

Outside of event cancellation, ticket sales are final — Jol facilitates the booking and payment between you and the venue/organizer.

Jol is provided "as is." We aren't liable for issues arising at a venue or event itself, or for losses beyond our reasonable control. Nothing here limits any rights you have that can't be excluded under South African law.

We may update these terms as the app evolves. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
